GARE MARITIME
CANNES
OpenArtCode Cannes was an extraordinary art exhibition held from 23rd to 25th June 2017 at the Gare maritime de Cannes, a stunning venue located near the Palais des Festivals along the renowned boulevard de La Croisette. Organized by the prestigious Société des Artistes Indépendants (Society of Independent Artists), the exhibition showcased a remarkable collection of artworks that captivated visitors from around the world.
The exhibition paid homage to the rich artistic heritage and progressive spirit of the Société des Artistes Indépendants, which was founded in 1884 by visionary masters such as Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Camille Pissarro, and the esteemed “Founding Fathers” Albert Dubois-Pillet, Odilon Redon, Georges Seurat, and Paul Signac. These artistic luminaries established the society with the aim of promoting artistic independence and providing a platform for artists to exhibit their works without the constraints of traditional art institutions.
Situated in the heart of Cannes, a city renowned for its vibrant cultural life, OpenArtCode offered visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the artistic tapestry of the region. Cannes is internationally acclaimed for its prestigious film festival, which attracts renowned filmmakers, actors, and artists from all corners of the globe. The city pulsates with creative energy, serving as a melting pot for diverse artistic expressions and cultural experiences.
